I discovered yoga for the first time ten years ago at Laughing Lotus Yoga Center in New York City. I remember leaving the studio after class and seeing the city with a fresh perspective and a feeling of presence I had never experienced before. I was astounded by steadiness and calm yoga brought to my anxious mind and enjoyed moving my body in a new, healing way. After moving to Los Angeles in 2006, I stumbled upon a magical little independently owned studio called Liberation Yoga, where I completed a 200-hour Yoga teacher training with Christine Burke, Steven Espinosa, Will Duprey, and Jeanne Korn. In 2013, I studied with renowned teacher Annie Carpenter (SmartFlow) through a mentorship which led to advanced certification. I’ve been teaching for over 6 years now and feel blessed to continue to learn every day from my own teachers, my students, and the seasons of life. My classes range from Restorative Yoga to basics to intermediate vinyasa flow with an emphasis on slower movement and safe alignment. I feel a great sense of joy in sharing yoga with people from all walks of life and bringing an essence of ease, clarity, playfulness, and mindfulness to our overworked and overstimulated culture. My students range from ages 3 to 82 and we have practiced in a variety of settings. Each time, I am reminded of the transformative power of yoga. My hope is that through your own practice, you can locate your truest expression, healing, and joy, and find your way “home.”
Here’s what some say about her classes:
Brittany is warm, very well-trained, and versatile. She has a bright, calming energy and clearly has great intuition and creativity when it comes to accommodating her students’ needs and goals. I’ve been lucky enough to practice with her in both private and class settings and she always knows how to balance strength with grace. You will leave feeling amazing and want to come back for more! -K.S.
